A few days ago, someone shared a video in a group chat with friends. I hadn’t seen it. Last night I stumbled across it and it motivated me to watch the whole thing .
Mario Pergolini ‘s talk at EXPORED 2025 opens a thousand windows: technology, habits, work, education, leadership. (I’m sharing the full talk here )

I watched it without looking for anything in particular, but it made me think about many of the things we are experiencing today.
- A pivotal moment: Beyond the format, what has stayed with me is the clarity with which it describes this moment: one where technology, education and work intertwine and force us to rethink the way we do things .
- Technology, differentiation and criteria:
Denying technology is no longer an option. Integrating it, thoughtfully, is what makes the difference. Innovation involves understanding the present and making small, consistent decisions. And that’s where another key idea comes in: differentiation . Understanding where your advantage lies and sustaining it (this applies to both brands and individuals).
- Give young people a place:
Sustaining the future means opening up the process. Giving them real problems, room to experiment, letting them learn. Goodbye to control: Change, today, is built on trust.
- Education, the alarm bells are ringing: “Reading comprehension is declining.” Mario says so, and we see it every day: fragmented attention, difficulty reading deeply. This directly impacts the quality of work and employability (I’ve seen it firsthand), and it’s no small matter.
- Habits, media and new audiences:
Media consumption has also changed. Less film and more scrolling, more anxiety and less rest. Those under 25 live on YouTube and TikTok. They look for video, not text. If we want them to listen to us, we have to show more and explain less (minute 46 of the video is pure gold on this) . It’s also important to be careful about what we communicate, because these days, what they see there will be taken as truth.
- Work, purpose, and leadership:
Another point that struck me as key was his perspective on work and youth. “There’s no love for the company.” Love isn’t imposed ; it’s built with purpose and fair play. Retaining talent is about demonstrating impact, promoting merit, and sharing results.
How can we take action as leaders?
- Integrate technology to provide real value to the customer.
- Measure to decide: less loose intuition, more dashboards with metrics.
- Training in reading comprehension , yes, seriously. Short reading workshops/briefings for the team. Small actions that can change everything.
- Designing with and for video : one piece for every idea.
- Let young people experiment : Give them freedom with clear objectives and immediate feedback.
- Visible growth: career paths, promotions based on impact.
- Promote a culture of completion : Quality over quantity. Less multitasking, more finishing well.
We are at a pivotal moment. And the balance between technology, sound judgment, and education is what will allow us to differentiate ourselves.
I invite you to listen to this talk and consider it in terms of decisions : how we hire, how we train, what content we create, and what quality we want to maintain. What do you think?
